PESHAWAR: The provincial government has launched biometric system in colleges across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with an aim to ensure timely attendance of lecturer and to streamline the education system. Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information said to the journalist that the education system have been introduced to regularize the lecturers. 
 
According to Ghani, 200 lecturers were absent from the institutions last year. Though Strict actions would be taken against them, he added. 
 
Ghani also said that the provincial government will establish quality enhancement units in the province for the first time. 
 
According to him the units will be comprised of education experts and it will be headed by the higher education secretary. The unit will be helpful in keeping a check on quality of education at colleges. Thus it would improve the education system. 
 
He also said that their is already a delay in recruiting staff, and teaching staff is needed on urgent basis, so new staff would be recruited through slow and steady process. 
 
Lastly he assured that government has allocated funds for the reconstruction of those colleges which are destroyed by natural disasters.
