Karachi, A seminar had been announced by the Biomedical Engineering Dept. of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology to promote the activities of research cultures taking place in the department.

Chancellor of the University Mr. ZA Nizami was addressing the seminar he said “Engineering education research is on our agenda for the improvement of higher engineering education and the development of strategies for solving important engineering issues.” Continuing his speech he also told that it is the only University that introduced the dept. of biomedical engineering in Pakistan. He said that SSUET has always encouraged the research work and the development work in the University.

More he said that all the scientific inventions in the world are the outcome of researches and world has become a global village; he said that the research is the most important of all the work.

Amount of 600 dollars has already been approved by the Chancellor for three research papers to be presented by the faculty Biomedical Engineering dept. in the International Biomedical Engineering Conference which is going to be held in Vietnam.

Chancellor promised to support completely to the faculty and the students. He advised them to work hard and honestly to promote the university research culture.

The Chairperson of the department Dr. Noreen Samad said that our University was contributing to provide more efficient tools and methods to improve the health status and our basic objective is to develop novel tools not only to develop the living status but to diagnose various diseases also.

More she said that we have a very qualified faculty including professionals and foreign qualified engineers of biomedical engineering who are playing their due role to bring the research work more effective.
