Tandojam, Sindh Agricultural University is facing economic crisis said Vice Chancellor. He urged to Higher Education Commission and government to give extra funds. Dr. A.Q. Mughal, VC of the University said in a statement that the university’s current budget is Rs540.934 million while total expenses would be Rs1062.153 million for year 2010-11.
He said that a recent communication of the HEC said current budget of university for 2010-11 would Rs540.934 which is almost equal to the funds released in 2009-10. VC informed that university is already facing a short fall of Rs174.782 million on the account of payment of 15 and 20 percent ad hoc relief to employees and 15 and 20 percent increase in pensions during 2009-10.
He informed that the total expenditure would be Rs1,062.153 million for 2010-11 and HEC committed to give only Rs540.934 million. He further said university would face a short fall of Rs430.719 million which would affect all spheres of its activities.
He urged the HEC and government to sanction additional funds to pull out university from financial crisis.
