Roll number slips not issued: Private candidates miss BA exam

SWABI, A number of private candidates could not appear in the BA examination owing to ‘failure’ of the University of Peshawar to dispatch them roll number slips in time.

The candidates who applied for appearing the examination told this correspondent that last year the BA examination was held in the last week of June, but this year the examination started on May 20.

Some students complained that they had not received roll number slips even a week after the examination had begun.

Those students who were aware of the new schedule and did not receive their roll numbers went to the Peshawar University but could not get the slips because of huge rush.

Fazal Nawab of Bamkhel, who was to appear in English-A and B papers could not sit in the exam as he did not receive the roll number.

Some students said they also approached the Pakistan Post to know if they might have failed to deliver the mail to them on time, but the officials presented them the whole record of previous days showing there was no such mail. The officials at the post office, the students said, told them they delivered such important mails without any delay.
