Punjab Government is going to end MCAT and ECAT entry test from 2015

Punjab Government is going to end MCAT & ECAT Entry Tests from 2015. The reorganization committee of examinations as well as admissions Punjab on Saturday has suggested ending the compulsion of ECAT and MCAT entry test for admission in medical and engineering colleges and universities of Punjab. The Committee had made the recommendation at a meeting which was presided by Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan.

Committee has also sent its suggestion to the Chief Minister of Punjab and his decision will be considered the final decision in this respect. CM of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif will take the final decision soon after his consultation along with people.

The Saturday’s meeting was attended by the vice Chancellors of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and University of Health Sciences (UHS), the councils of the Higher Education Department as well as the School Education Department and by the head of Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen, Nasrullah Virk. The committee has presented its suggestion of ending ECAT and MCAT entry test to CM to offer the level playing field to all the candidates for getting admission in medical as well as engineering institutes. 

ECAT and MCAT Entry Test

ECAT and MCAT were presented twenty years ago, when duplicitous circle was sovereign in all the educational boards of Punjab and there was a big problem regarding the performance of various educational boards of intermediate and secondary education, however, now Punjab government has introduced a lot of changes in examination system. Duplicitous circle has now been abolished. Now answers sheets are send to the other educational boards with secret roll numbers for checking. The final papers of all educational boards are being chosen from a same pool of examination questions to confirm equal standard of papers.

The parents of candidates have to pay a lot of fees for the preparation of MCAT and ECAT entry tests classes. The entry test preparation academies have now become another mafia which is plundering the students. It is undoubtedly a good news for the candidates however, it is the bad news for all those academies and institute who provides the facility of preparation for these exams.
