PU student moves court against dismissal

Lahore: An aspirant of University of the Punjab expelled for sending ‘indecent’ mobile messages to a girl student has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) against his punishment in spite of the fact that the complainant has forgiven him.

Zarq Tanvir, an aspirant of physical education department of PU, claimed in his appeal that disciplinary committee of the university expelled him on the complaint of a fellow student who suspect him of sending indecent messages to her.

The requester claimed that the complainant and her family had forgave him however, the management of the university was not ending his punishment. He requested the court to direct the varsity to end his punishment.

Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza heard the petition on Thursday and earmarked the verdict.
