Lahore: According to the press statement issued on Thursday, Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has decided to take a strict action against the illegal sub-campuses, affiliations and franchises of private sector degree awarding institutions (DAIs) in Punjab.

This important decision was taken during a meeting of the PHEC to address the matters = of unlawful sub-campuses, affiliations as well as franchises of private educational institutions.

The meeting was presided over by chairperson of PHEC Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin where the commission decided that any illegal sub-campus of private institution will not be permitted to perform its functions.

The attention of the commission was drawn towards the recently-established sub-campus of University of South Asia in Gujrat without any approvall from the governor.

The commission showed the serious concerns and decided to order the university to close its sub-campus without any delay.
