QUETTA, The Baloch Students Action Committee has criticised postponement
of interviews for candidates who have passed the entry test for admission in the
Bolan Medical College.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, BSAC chairman Abu Bakar described
the decision as an anti-student policy and asked the college administration
to hold the interviews of successful candidates without delay.
He said that 217 students, who had passed the NTS (National Testing Service)
test, were asked by the college to appear before a committee for interview on
Dec 28. But it announced the postponement of interviews on Dec 25, creating
problems for the candidates, particularly women, who had come to Quetta for
the interview from far-flung areas of the province.
Mr Abu Bakar said that the students were facing difficulties in the chilly
weather as many had no place to stay till the next date of interviews which
had not been announced.
He said that it was a matter of concern that interviews had been postponed
because of non-availability of the chairman of Public Service Commission Balochistan.
In other provinces, he added, the PSC chairman was not included in the interview
committee of any medical college.
