PAF, Tevta sign MoU on Wednesday for improvement of technical education

Lahore: Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Farooq Habib has said the relationship between Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will definitely improve the quality of technical education as well as vocational training system throughout the Punjab.

The transfer of administrative control of Government Staff Training College, Murree, to Pakistan Air Force will provide valued training to Tevta teaching faculty.

According to the issued press release, this statement was given by Farooq Habib during his address in a ceremony that was organized to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tevta and PAF at Tevta Secretariat on Wednesday.

This agreement was signed by Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Farooq Habib and Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh.

He furthermore said that PAF will upgrade the standard of training facilities at Government Staff Training College (GSTC), Murree.

On the instructions of the Punjab chief minister, Tevta is providing the administrative control of GSTC, Murree, to PAF for a decided period of time.

PAF will also provide technical aid in repairing the current machinery and procurement of equipment, machinery, computers to impart quality vocational training in the jointly agreed trades.

The chairperson of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority said that GSTC, Murree, will be governed and supervised by a board of management.

He further added that efforts were being made in line along with the strategy of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to upgrade the professional abilities of teachers.

Tevta has also chalked out a training calendar for its almost 2,055 men and women teachers in the present financial year, he added.
