Lahore: The World University Ranking by Times Higher Education have shown that no Pakistani University has made its place to the top 500 universities of the world and just two Pakistani universities got ranked in top 800 universities of the world.
California Institute of Technology (Caltech), USA topped the ranking list and was succeeded by University of Oxford which secured second position.
From Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad was ranked in 501-600 while National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad got ranked in 601-800.
National University of science and Technology (NUST) scored 21.4 in teaching whereas Quaid-e-Azam University scored 17.9.
Quaid-e-Azam University topped NUST in terms of International position and scored 35.4 as compared to NUST which scored 31.3.

Another time in terms of research, QAU topped NUST along with the score of 9.9 as compared to the score of NUST that is 7.0. For certifications, QAU grabbed 45.6 points whereas NUST scored 35.0.
Undoubtedly, United States of America (USA) was the main shareholder having 147 universities being ranked on the top ranking scale. Approximately 63 of these universities were in the top 200 universities.
In the ranking list of top universities by Times Higher Education 17 universities from India, 37 from China while 6 from Israel, 24 from South Korea and 6 from Hong Kong.
Several Islamic countries ranked better on the scale whereas 11 universities from Turkey, 8 from Iran, 3 from Saudi Arabia, 5 from Malaysia made to the top 800 universities.
According to the QS Ranking issued this year in March almost 6 Pakistani universities were in the top 800.
