Karachi: Asiya Mahmood was never born with a silver spoon in her mouth. However, the hard work as well as the determination helped her shine out in the pre-medical inter level examinations and grabbed the first position.
The pan shop of her father at Shershah is very famous among the food lovers since the last 40 years. However, the kind of money it made was often not enough to take care of luxuries she sometimes saw that her friends enjoy.

Asiya is desirous to become a doctor. However, it is not her dream that she is chasing, it is the dream of her father.
Her father Khalid Mehmood was never able to chase his dreams. “I am very happy that my daughter got a chance to study as I myself was unable to do so. One reason or another held me back from chasing education after inter. However, I am glad that our issues have not stopped her from doing so,” said the proud father.

For Asiya just the collection of degrees is not her idea of an education.
“I want to achieve something in my life. Something that I feel education will help me achieve.”
The aspirants of PECHS Government College for Women, Asiya got 992 marks out of total 1100 marks.
Khalid is a father of five brilliant children. Her eldest daughter chased her Master's degree at university. For Asiya he has high expectations.
