Laptop Distribution Scheme in Punjab to be started from Aug 19

Lahore, The government is planning to continue the distribution of laptops among the brilliant students this year and it would be a part of promotion of education, Provincial Minister for Education and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said while addressing a meeting at Gulshan-i-Ravi football ground.

Laptop distribution program will begin from August 19, 2014 and matric students having 72 percent or above marks would be eligible,” Mashhood said.

He further added that 100,000 laptops are scheduled to be provided this year. while discussing the political situation of Pakistan he said that students would not support any unfair and undemocratic revolution or tsunami and Punjab government is taking all the possible steps for the protection of people.

Later, Rana Mashhood distributed cheques and shields among the candidates who participated in Punjab Youth Festival. A musical show was also organized supervision on the occasion.

The purpose of Prime Ministers Laptop Scheme is to enhance the opportunities of research and provision of quality education across the country and it would also made developments in the field of information technology.

The eligibility criteria lies on both male and female students getting education under HEC approved educational institution. The distribution would be made for all the masters/doctoral students and 50% under-graduate. Students residing across the country could get benefit this scheme this year and a laptop is worth Rs.40,000 while as many as 100,000 students of Pakistan could get it.
