Islamabad, Embassy of japan in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), organized art and speech competitions on Japan here on Thursday. The aim of this contest was to promote creativity of talented young students of Pakistan.
In art competition, Students of 12 to 14 year old from each school drew pictures on their own choice related to Pakistan japan relationship. Art plays major role in the development of aesthetic sense. In this cmpetition, Maheen Shahid of the City School grabbed first prize, while Hamza Ayaz of Beaconhouse School System (Margalla Campus) and Dilawaiz Sultan of St. Mary s Cambridge School got second and third prizes respectively.
In the panel of art competition, there were Mussarrat Nahid Imam, director of the Visual Art and curator of the National Art Gallery, and Fauzia Minallah, renowned artist, writer and publisher of book on Sadako, along with a representative of the embassy of Japan.
In speech competition, one students from each school participated with a topic related to japan. In the speech competition, Summiya Najam of Bahria College, Islamabad, Abdullah Amir, Joint Staff School & College, Rawalpindi, Tayyaba Aslam, Springfield Public School, Rawalpindi, got first, second and third prizes respectively.
The panel of judges for the speech competition comprised Nabila Sajjad, assistant professor at the Islamabad Model College for Girls, Tahira Ikram, associate professor (r) Vaqar-un-Nisa Postgraduate College, Rawalpindi, Sultan Sikander Khan, former president of the MAAP, and a representative from the embassy of Japan.
Japan ambassador to Pakistan, Hiroshi Oe, , Midori Oe, President PJCA, Syed Ijlal Haider Zaidi and Hassan Abbas Raza, acting director general of the PNCA, gave away souvenirs and certificates to the winners.
