Peshawar, The students of Islamia College University (ICU) sustained their strike for the second consecutive day against the examination section to press the administration ensure timely declaration of result and replace the controller of examination on Tuesday .
The students protested with banners and placards carved with slogans against Controller of Examination Mohammad Javed. Led by Islamia Jamiat-e-Talaba nazim Hafeezullah, for Islamia College University, the protesters also echoed slogans against the university administration.
The protesting students were of the opinion that they were suffering serious problems in seeking admission in higher classes and acquiring hostel due to delay in the announcement of their result and issuance of their marks sheets, facility. They also opposed the system of relative GPA and demanded the university administration to introduce absolute GPA system on the pattern of other universities and degree awarding institutes of the province.
They demanded the vice-chancellor to immediately replace the controller and save the students from further embarrassment. Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Haider Shah visited the protesting students and assured them of accepting all their demands by November 4. The students dispersed peacefully after the assurance.
