Interactive workshop of PhD scholars ends at AIOU

Islamabad: A 3 week-long interactive workshop of the research scholars of PhD, arranged by the Department of Mass Communication, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) ended here.

This workshop was organized under the sponsorship of Dean or Chairperson of Department of Mass Communication Professor Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj while Associate Professor Dr. Saqib Riaz and Associate Professor Dr. Bakht Rawan also headed the conference.

During the communication session, Dr. Siraj said that the journalists are the main source basically they are the eyes and ears of the society in other words they actually play the role of overseers for every section of the society.

He moreover said that the main objective of journalism is to deliver perfect and reliable information to its target population. Thus, he said that they should be very careful in collecting their reports, based on perfection and facts as well.

Dr. Saqib Riaz during his discussions covered several important topics related to media. Dr. Bakht Rawan also covered some major and important issues of mass communication. They explained them along with the assistance of a number of national as well as international examples.

Total 11 research scholars, Hayam Qayyum, Nazia Bibi, Abdul Rehman Qaisar, Ghani Rahman, Mian Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, Muhammad Sher Juni, Muhammad Yousaf, Salman Amin, Shams ur Rehman and Syed Anis Ahmad, of the first semester of PhD Mass Communication, Autumn 15 session, eagerly participated in the discussions.

All these scholars presented their research work through power-point on multimedia to have knowledge-based consultations. Inclusive dialogues were organized on themes such as ‘International Communication and Globalization,’ ‘Media Debate’ and ‘Political Communication’ and imitative topics of Mass Communications.
