Lahore, The Higher Education Commission (HEC) must be kept afloat for development of higher educational institutions and promotion of quality research in the country, said GC University Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman while talking to a delegation of BS-20 Officers participating in 95th National Management Course (NMC) at the National School of Public Policy (NSPP). The delegation led by Ahmed Yar Khan visited the GC University Lahore to learn about its policy formulation, financial resources and future plans. GCU Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Ikramul Haq and Registrar Anjum Nisar was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, GCU VC Prof. Khaleeq said they have increased the role of academic heads and young energetic faculty members in development, administration and policy-making to strengthen the University. He said that qualitative change is evident in higher education system of country during the last five years due to the positive role played by HEC. He said that the role of HEC has been internationally acclaimed. “All work that HEC has done in the past 8 years may be wasted if the funds and powers of HEC are devolved or reduced,” he added.
The Vice Chancellor aspired to place GCU on top in the world ranking of universities through the unflinching support of his experienced and motivated colleagues. He vowed to facilitate the faculty for the promotion of research in the university. He also vowed to increase scholarships for the deserving students through the support of philanthropists and Old Ravians. Prof. Khaleeq also briefed the delegation about the future projects of the GC University Lahore.
