Mansehra: Hazara University on Sunday announced the scholarships for brilliant students who clinched the top three positions at colleges affiliated with the university to pursue higher studies.

The official statement regarding distribution of scholarships was made by the vice chancellor of Hazara University Professor Dr Muhammad Idrees during his address at the annual convocation of Government Girls Postgraduate College Abbottabad on Sunday.

He emphasize that in order to meet the future challenges of society, it is necessary for the girls to get higher education.


“Educating a girl means educating complete family,” he added.


The VC stressed upon the girls to direct their energies towards seeking knowledge as they were equally responsible for serving the country and society in accomplishing the target of social and economic prosperity.

He furthermore added that the knowledge was the lost asset of Muslims that has, as a result, made the Muslim world subservient to others.

“We have to break the chains of slavery by recovering our lost identity,” he said referring to the struggle of Muslim scientists.

The VC also said that knowledge and civilization were intertwined and all the leading nations achieved prosperity via education however, unfortunately, Muslims have ignored this reality.

Afterwards, he distributed degrees among successful students of BA, BSC, Bs. Honours among the 284 students of the college.
