Lahore: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), keeping along with its vision of promoting engineering and sciences crosswise the country, officially inaugurated its first space observatory.

The state-of-the-art space observation facility will feature the global magnifying 'Celestron CGE Pro Series Telescope' in the premises of Gad and Birgit Rausing Library.

This facility at the university is a contribution by SPADES, a student-run organization as well as an initiative of the LUMS Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE).

This will permit the LUMS community to look outside the horizons of earth, which will definitely generate interest of aspirants in the lesser-known fields of astronomy, astrophotography and space sciences as well.

While sharing his happiness on the event, the Vice Chancellor of LUMS Prof Dr Sohail Naqvi said:
