Dera Ismail Khan, Governor Syed Masood Kausar assured of solving the problem of lack of funds at the Gomal University on Monday.

He said this while speaking at the convocation at the university where he awarded gold medals and shields to the PhD scholars and position holder students. The governor said the government was aware of the problems and hardships being faced by the university management because of the financial crisis.

Masood Kausar said the Gomal University was a reputed educational institution imparting quality education in the region. He assured his support to get the university out of financial crisis by conveying the problem to the federal government.

Applauding the role of Vice Chancellor Mansoor Akbar Kundi, he said that university has considerably improved due to the hard efforts of VC. Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi, MPA Khalifa Abdul Qayyum, President of Pakistan People’s Party Dera Ismail Khan Aurangzeb Khan, notables of the area and senior officials of the university administration were present on the occasion.

Earlier, Dr Najeebullah in his welcome address apprised the governor, who is also chancellor of the university, of the acute shortage of development and non-development funds that was affecting functioning of the university.
