All Punjab Inter Collegiate Games
GCU wins Best Contingent Trophy

The Government College University Lahore has won the Best Contingent Trophy at the opening ceremony of All Punjab Inter Collegiate Games held under the auspices of Punjab Olympics. The contingent led by GCU Director Sports Prof. Khadim Ali Khan outshined the contingents of 32 colleges across Punjab and secured the top position. As many as 150 sportsmen of the university were the part of the contingent.

Expressing pleasure on the first achievement in the games, Prof. Khadim Ali Khan said that GCU was also declared the Best Contingent in 2009-10 games and this year they have successfully defended their title.

GCU wins 5 medals in weightlifting

The Government College University Lahore musclemen have won one gold and four silver medals in the weightlifting competition in Lahore Board Intercollegiate Games 2010. GCU student Alamghir out-muscled his rivals and won a gold medal in 105Kg Category. Asaduallah secured silver medal in 105+Kg Category. Muhammad Aslam was declared third in 94Kg category. Shahzeeb Khan and Muhammad Waqas bagged sliver medals in 70Kg and 55Kg categories respectively. GCU Director Sports Khadim Ali Khan has congratulated his musclemen on their achievement.
