Lahore, Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Saturday organised a special daylong training workshop titled “Personality Development and Communication skills” for the varsity’s students who had been awarded scholarships under the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF).

As many as 81 students, enrolled in the intermediate and undergraduate programmes of the GCU, attended the workshop conducted and designed by the university’s English Department on the special request of PEEF. The training was focused on interpersonal presentation and interaction skills, time-management, critical thinking and the art of appropriate attire. The workshop instructors also conducted various activities with the students besides detailed multimedia lectures and question-answer sessions. The instructors asked the students to make the list of their short-term and long-term objectives, happiness wishes and daily routine. Later, a detailed discussion was held on the efforts of students to achieve these targets. Course Instructor Shahzeb Khan said that the purpose of these activities was to help the scholarship-holders realise their true potential and understand how they could acquire relevant skills to achieve their targets. Course Instructor Siddique Awan quoted examples from the lives of noted people to help students understand the importance of reading, communication skills, time management and the art of appropriate attire.
