GC University Lahore Political Science Department (GCU PSD) celebrated 50 birthday. In the University’s Oval Ground the annual dinner of the Department’s alumni association was organized on the instructions of Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore. On this occasion Eve Malick, the wife of former Political Science Department Chairman Prof Syed Osman Malick was invited as chief guest and it was also attended by Punjab Minister Atta Manika, former foreign secretary Shamshad Ahmad Khan, Punjab Public Service Commission Member Qazi Afaq, Aftab Iqbal, Chairperson of the Department Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt and large number of eminent Old Ravians and faculty members.
GC University, Faisalabad is a leading center of learning and research and has got a significant status. The GC University firstly started functioning as a primary school in 1897 in the present building of Govt. College for Women, Karkhana Bazar, Faisalabad. Further it was promoted to High School and Intermediate College in 1905 and 1924 respectively.
