Lahore, The Government College University Lahore Computer Sciences Department (GCU CSD) has won Quaid-e-Azam Quiz Competition 2011 organized by the Ravians Quiz Society in connection with the 136th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali JIinnah. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq ur Rehman was the Chief Guest at the battle of minds amongst as many as 31 societies and academic departments of the GC University Lahore. Muhammad Qamar Shabbir and Rehman Latif, the students of BSc (Hons) Computer Sciences, scored the highest points and lifted the winners’ trophy. The GCU Department of Statistics secured the second position.
GCU RQS President Rana Saifullah said that the competition spanned up to four rounds namely; team round, individual round, category round, multimedia round, in which questions mainly focused the personality and educational and political life of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman advised the Ravians to lead a life of a true Muslim and a patriot Pakistani. He paid tribute to Jinnah and stressed the students to bring the Muslim glory back in the field of social sciences and science and technology.
