Lahore:  The British High Commission has announced that the last date for submitting applications for the prestigious Chevening Scholarships UK government will be closed on November 8th, 2016.

As per the press release issued by the UK High Commission on Thursday:


“The Deputy High Commissioner of British High Commission in Islamabad Patrick Moody advised the candidates to submit their applications before the last date.”


The scholarship provides financial support to study for a one-year master’s degree at any university in UK and the opportunity to become part of a powerful international network of 46K alumni.

The candidates must have sixteen years of education and 2 years work experience at the time of application.

“The Chevening Scholarship programme sent a large number of scholars to the UK this year for post-graduate degrees and we hope that these numbers will rise in the future,” he added.

Hassan Shah who is a lawyer/social entrepreneur as well as a Chevening Scholar said:


"The Chevening Scholarship was a life-changing experience for me. I will intensely encourage everyone who is eligible to apply.”


Along with the one- year master’s, the Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship and the Chevening/British Library Fellowship are also being offered.

The applications for these fellowships will also be closed on November 8th, 2016.
