Peshawar: A China Study Centre has been set up at University of Peshawar. In this regard, the Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong visited the university last week.

The Chinese ambassador met the vice Chancellor of university Rasul Jan and presented him a cheque him at the Chinese Language, Culture and Research Centre.

The newly established Chine study centre will encourage as well as promote research and study on the Chinese history and culture. Futhermore, the centre will strengthen existing Pak-China friendship.

The centre will offer Chinese language course and degree courses for research on China whereas the centre will start its functioning from September.

Jan in his welcome address to the Chinese delegation said that “Following China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the study centre will offer huge help to industrialists by offering them the essential skills in their field of interest.”

He furthermore added that University of Peshawar has academic relation along with three varsities in China and will like to introduce exchange programmes together with more universities for projects of mutual benefits.

“The establishment of a chine study centre at a time when both nations are celebrating 65 years of their diplomatic relations is a milestone achievement” said Jan.
