ISLAMABAD: Up to 47 PhD scholars of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have received their doctoral degrees from leading Chinese universities under ‘HEC PhD scholarships for basic Sciences, China’, scheme that was launched in August 2003.
Outstanding teachers and researchers of public sector universities belonging to basic sciences disciplines proceeded to China for 50 available scholarships. These scholars have rejoined their parent organizations. Only one scholar could not complete his PhD due to some medical reasons.
