Lahore: University of the Punjab (PU) chapter Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) has expressed the concerns over termination of 3-year LLB programme and demanded the university to increase the first year seats of the five-year LLB programme from One hundred to three hundred.

Though, a representative of Punjab University Law College said that the university was following the PBC policy and could not increase the number of seats from 100 to 300 in the first year of the 5-year LLB programme.

In the beginning of this Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) had decreed the Pakistan Bar Council Legal Education Rules 2015, asking the universities crosswise the country that the duration of the LLB course will not be less than five years whereas no further admission to three years LLB programme will be given by any university or law college.  The present three-year LLB programme will be finished after three years of the implementation of these rules.
