Karachi, The results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Part-I, Class XI, Science General and Pre-Engineering Groups, annual examinations, 2009, were declared by the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) on Thursday.

According to BIEK notification, 97 male students out of 842 passed all six papers in the Science General Group, putting the pass percentage at 11.53.

Meanwhile, 277 females candidates passed all six papers out of 686 candidates who had appeared in the examination. Passing percentage is 40.38.

One result was withheld by the authorities concerned.

Moreover 131 male and 154 female candidates could only pass five papers. The result also indicates that 244 male and 167 female candidates managed to clear four papers and 175 male and 57 female candidates were declared pass only in three papers.

Meanwhile, in the Science Pre-Engineering Group, 6,314 passed all six papers out of 16,259 who had appeared in the examination while 33 results were with-held, with a pass percentage of 38.91. Similarly, 3,314 female candidates out of 5739 cleared all six papers in the examination, putting the pass percentage at 57.8.

Moreover 2,204 male and 710 female candidates could pass only five papers, 2,208 male and 628 female candidates managed to pass four papers, whereas 2.772 male and 704 female candidates cleared three papers.
