Board of intermediate and secondary education Karachi has written the letters to the director-generals of colleges as well as of private institutions in Sindh and also to the other related officials to take the act against institutions from where students have attained less than 33 percent marks in inter exams during the past five years.

 Chairperson of BIEK, Mohammad Akhtar Ghori, in his letter to the DG colleges Sindh, requested him to take the action in accordance along with the regulation-V, Volume-I, of Karachi Board calendar.

 He claimed that the data of last five years was collected through his office as well as after surveying the performance of all the affiliated colleges and also the higher secondary schools, it was decided that important step should be taken against the institutes that are responsible for giving the poor results in annual exams.

 It was said that all those educational institutes that were producing less than 33 percent results for the last five years were actually required to go through the particular scrutiny to find out the competency of their staff as well as the teaching quality.

Chairperson of Karachi board in his letter said that 77 pre-medical and 72 pre-engineering government colleges had secured less than 33% marks, whereas 23 science general colleges had also attained less than 33% result in the last five years.

At the same time, in a separate letter that is sent to the director of school education, Karachi board’s chairman claimed that 23 pre-medical as well as the 20 pre-engineering government higher secondary schools had produced below 33% result in the last 5 years.

However, in another letter to the director-general of private institutions, BIEK chairman informed him that 67 pre-medical, 77 pre-engineering and also the 52 general science colleges together with higher secondary schools, had secured less than the satisfactory marks.
