The head of Board of Intermediate and secondary Education, Karachi, (BIEK), Mohammad Akhtar Ghori, has claimed that board sold for Rs240 million annually in cases of favoritism or for unfair results. The head presented a document at a press conference held on Tuesday, detailing the corruption as well as the negligence going on in the affairs of educational board.

Ghori, who was appointed as the head of BIEK in the month of June, said that a lot of records as well as files were missing whereas the others were just not maintained. He ordered the heads of respective sections plus their respective superior administrative establishments, generals, accounts, audit and also IT sections to maintain the records correctly or get ready to face the action.

While conversing to the media, in another statement he said that he have taken notice of delays in the submission and processing of salary bills of daily-wagers hired through the board.  He also said that he had been receiving a lot of complaints that every year, BIEK was sold for Rs240 million in the name of partiality and unfair results.

Moreover, Ghori has written a letter to the controller of exams, Imran Chishti, in which he asked for the explanation of some incidents of threatening the employees for rejecting to obey ‘his illicit orders’.

Stating the 2 incidents in the letter, he warned that these illegal actions are unacceptable in any situation. The head also asked the controller of examinations to make clear his position in these situations within two days and after that must submit a written reply.

In another situation against the controller of examinations where he posted and transferred three workers by making his own decision, the chairperson rejected the orders, by saying that the controller did not have the right to transfer or post any employee of the Board of Intermediate and secondary education, Karachi.
