Karachi, Controller of Examinations Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti on Thursday declared the results of annual examinations of the HSC, Part-II, Commerce (Private), Humanities (Regular and Private), Humanities (Regular) Special Candidates and Medical Technology. Girl students outshone male candidates in the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC), Part-II examinations
According to the gazette, 12,775 candidates were registered and 12,277 students appeared in the Annual Examinations-2011 of Commerce (Private) Group of which 4,929 candidates were declared successful in the exams and overall pass percentage was 40.15 per cent.
In the Commerce (Private) Group, 9,998 male students registered and 9,583 candidates appeared in the exams. Meanwhile, 3,931 students passed their exams and overall pass percentage was 41.01 per cent. While 2,777 female candidates were registered of which 2,694 students appeared and 999 candidates were declared passed. The overall pass percentage was 37.08 per cent, he further said.
According to the gazette, 18 unfair means cases were reported during and after the annual exams. Ms Mairman Siddiqui, bearing roll number 446258, clinched overall first position and obtained 856 marks out of total 1100 with 77.81 per cent.
Amna Asif, bagged second position with 850 marks and 77.27 per cent whereas Sidra Tul Mun Taha got third position with 831 marks and 75.54 per cent. In a Humanities (Regular) Special Candidates Group, 71 students registered and 68 appeared in the exams. Of which, 66 were declared passed and overall pass percentage was 97.06 per cent.
Urooj Naz, of IDA-RIEU School and College for Deaf and Dumb, secured overall first position and got 987 marks with 89.73 per cent. Perveen Zehra, from Dewa Higher Secondary School, obtained second position with 973 marks and 88.45 per cent. Naeem Ullah, of IDA-RIEU School and College for Deaf got third position in the result with 972 marks and 88.36 per cent.
On this occasion, Chairman BIEK, Anwar Ahmed Zai announced that the Board Staff would encourage learning sign language and Board Office to distribute certificate of appreciation among them. Controller of Examinations, BIEK, Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti said that 141,108 candidates registered and 13, 335 students appeared in the Humanities (Private) Group Annual Examinations, 2011.
Madhia secured overall first position with 888 marks and 80.72 percentage. Shah Jhan Saleem got second position with 867 marks and 78.81 per cent and Asma Hussain obtained third position with 845 marks and 76.81 percentage.
These position holders were not present during the ceremony, on the other hand, 10, 414 students registered and 10, 201 candidates appeared in the HSC Part-II Annual Examinations-2011 of the
Chairman BIEK, Anwar Ahmed Zai said that in the past, regular and unsuccessful students (who failed to clear their papers in the first attempt) solve different papers in the exams but now they would get the same paper.
