AIOU to begin LLB classes from August 2016

According to the Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Dr Shahid Siddiqui, the University has made a plan to start LLB classes from August next year.

While launching a new lecture series Law and Society that would be the part of LLB programme, VC of university said that the university was in progression of deciding faculty as well as the course material of LLB programme.

According to the Press release issued by the university, this programme will definitely assist in producing the lawyers of national caliber, and an individual space having special symbolic Court Room being established at the main campus of the university that will allow the law students to make aware themselves along with the authentic proceedings of court trial.

Dr Shahid moreover said that Central Library of the University is being equipped along with the essential law books, courts cases and the other related material.

Firstly this programme will be started along with the restricted number of aspirants from Rawalpindi and Islamabad region.

He said that the support as well as the guidance of Pakistan Bar Council and members of legal community will be required before launching this LLB programme.

The university would also organize the regular visits of the law aspirants to superior courts for their proper professional development and the well-known lawyers and jurists of the state would be involved in the visiting teaching faculty. He also said that the main objective of the LLB programme is to improve the respect and academic status of the Mega University.

Senior lawyer of the Supreme Court S.A Rehman briefed the senior officers of the institute on the occasion regarding the efficiency and disciplinary rules for the guaranteed transparency as well as fairness in the official working and civil servants enquiry overall procedure. The registrar of the University Dr Muhammad Naeem Qureshi and Dean Faculty of Sciences Dr Syed Abdul Siraj were also present on that event.
