AIOU opens MS, MPhil and PhD admission 2013

Islamabad, Admissions in MS, MPhil and PhD programs has been initiated at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). The admissions are being offered for Autumn Semester 2013 and university will start admission process from today all over the country at the same time.
 
AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi expressed this while initiating the insertion of admission forms and prospectuses for the Autumn Semester 2013 on the website of the university. Prospectus and admission are available at the university website www.aiou.edu.pk and Rs500 will be taken as processing fee.
 
Director and Controller of Examinations Dr. Hamid Khan Niazi of Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR), Head of Computer Section Shabnum N Shahid and other senior members were present on the occasion.
 
The admissions in PhD programs on the basis of MS, M.Phil will be opened in Islamic Studies (General), Islamic Studies (Quran and Tasfeer), Chemistry (offered in Islamabad only), Iqbal Studies, Pakistani Languages & Literature (with specialization in Pushto, Balochi, Brahul, Sindhi, Seraiki, Punjabi) and Urdu, Dr. Hamid Khan Niazi said.

Admissions in the discipline of M.Phil are open in Islamic Studies (General), Islamic Studies (Quran and Tafseer), Arabic, Chemistry (offered in Islamabad only), Iqbal Studies and Mass Communication. The admissions in MS are open in Community Health and Nutrition, he further added.
 
Candidates are eligible for PhD admission if they have M.Phil 1st Division with 3 GPA in the respective subject and appeared in NTS GAT (Subject) test and got at least 60% marks. For MS and MPhil admission, applicant must have MSc with 2nd Division and NTS GAT (General) test with 50% marks.
 
The NTS GAT results are valid for the time period of two years. NTS will orgainze a special test on June 23 for all those students who have not passed it yet. In this regard the last date for registration is June 10. For further details visit the NTS website (www.nts.org.pk).
