AIOU offers fresh B.Ed program according to HEC’s guideline

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) offering B.Ed program, in accordance along with the new road-map provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

According to the policy, the duration of B.Ed programme will be one and half year plus the interested will have be required to have sixteen years of education for their eligibility to take the admission in this program.

According to the vice chancellor of university, we are the pioneer in offering this program, one and half year-duration, after the decision of higher education commission to phasing-out one year B.Ed, PTC AND C.T program.

The commission has converted 1-year B.Ed program into four year on the basis of F.A. and FSc Education from the present academic year.

The post-graduate aspirants of (M.A. and MSc passed) have been declared eligible for doing their B.ED in a period of 1 and half year. So, the University has offered the program for on-going admissions which will continue till September 5^th, 2016.

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui furthermore said that the varsity is also offering M.Ed (One Year) program this year, expecting that the interested candidates will take advantage of it. There is possibility that the the commission will stop M.Ed one-year program in near future.

Moreover, AIOU has also launched 1-year Associate degree in education for the in-service persons, according to the road-map of Higher Education Commission.

Those who are having five-year teaching experience would be able to take the admission in it, with intermediate, plus PTC education.

As per the Director Admissions, Syed Zia-ul-Husnain Naqvi, a 2-year Associate degree has also been introduced for the fresh aspirants on basis of F.A and FSc. There is also a 3-year Associate degree program for the aspirants from Punjab province.
