AIOU introduces 9 short duration agro-based courses for students

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced the 9 short-term agro-based courses to promote skill as well as knowledge in the agriculture zone.

The last date for admissions in these 9 courses is 11^th April 2016 (Spring 2016 semester). The courses related to the Plant protection, oil seed crops production, farm machinery, dairy farming, poultry farming, ‘jadeed zirat’ enhanced the techniques of fruit production, Home and Farm operational management as well as the farm income producing abilities.

The Vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that these schemes are targeted at permitting the people of rural areas to earn their liveliness. The curriculum regarding these courses is being reorganized to equip their aspirants along with innovative techniques and means in the agriculture field.

He moreover said that “We are laying the greater focus on the socio-economic requirements of the society”. 

Away from these programs, the admissions in Postgraduate Diploma are also open till April 11^th, 2016 along with the late fee. These courses comprises of: Educational Planning and Management (EPM), Mass Communication, Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Computer Science (Online) as well as Early Child Education (ECE).

Furthermore, the varsity has established the ‘Prospectus Sale Points’ at Tehsil level crosswise the board in order to facilitate the new candidates at their door-steps and placed the addresses of all these offices at the official website of university “www.aiou.edu.pk”.
