AIOU announces grants for students who secure 75% marks

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has allocated more than Rs100 million to help needy as well as deserving students in the form of fee reductions and scholarships, according to the varsity’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

The authroties of varsity has announced that it will continue its policy to provide the financial aid to the needy and deserving students, permitting them to continue their future study.

AIOU has recently launched 9 schemes under which financial aid is extended on regular basis, said Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui of AIOU.

“We need to make sure that fee-payment should not be a difficulty in educational hunts. Nobody should be left without education due to the financial restraints” he said in his statement on the occasion of ‘Open Day’ that was organized at the main campus of varsity to project students’ support schemes.

Students can apply for these grants while applying for spring admissions 2016 till March 31^st, 2016. The scheme comprises of a merit-based scholarship which targets at generating competition between aspirants and inspire brilliant students. The scholarship is being offered both to the fresher’s as well as continuing students who secured 75 percent above marks in their latest results.

The scholarship package comprises of: Earn to learn scheme, Outreach Scholarship Scheme, scholarships for communities, final year project grant scheme, fee installment scheme and alumni / sponsored scholarship, scholarship for women.

Deserving and needy students who fall in these categories of scheme are advised to contact the nearest Regional Campus of the University for the Assistance in accordance along with the prescribed rules. Interested students can download application form from the official website of university and send it to the given address along with his/ her required academic documents.
