Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad has given Rs15 million as its annual budget to offer the scholarships to its deserving students in order to bring the maximum number of people in the educational network of the state.

The Vice Chancellor of the University during his address at the regional director’s conference said that this scholarship will be available under 9 various schemes basically to provide accommodations to the people from less developed areas and neglected section of the society.

He expected that the 44 zones of the university will completely get the advantage of this scholarship fund. The financial aid will also be provided to the aspirants who are affected by the recent earthquake as well as by floods.

The Regional Directors conference during its 2 day considerations organized at Abbottabad take on a comprehensive plan to strengthen their local campuses so as to enhance the quality of education and deliver the best possible services to its almost 1.3 million students.

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui during the inauguration of the conference said that the regional offices will be given the additional support by meeting their financial technical and human resource necessities allowing them to meet their target of maximum registered students and strengthening student’s support system.
