8-days youth festival to begins on September 24th

Karachi: This year, the annual Youth Festival organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi will be held from September 24^th, 2016 to October 1^st, 2016. This statement was given by the council’s Ahmed Shah at a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon.

Ahmed Shah started his speech while thanking the media for promoting ‘non-commercial’ events. He said that the youth festival was an annual feature of the council’s programmes, and just like the Urdu Conference that it organized on annual basis the festival too had become big enough to be recognized.

He furthermore added that the event had provided a platform to hundreds of young boys and girls to show their talent in various classes and categories

Mr Shah also said that he was pleasantly surprised to watch out some of the young people who took part in the festival to become the professionals in their respective fields.

He said not only did the council provide them a platform however it also helped them get jobs which permitted them to become productive members of the society. He said one of the marked features of the festival was that young people belonging to a multiplicity of social backgrounds and economic strata participated in it.

Regardless of winning or losing a competition, what the festival did was to impart the young ones with confidence, and confidence was something that assists them in the later stages of their lives, he added.

Mr Shah said this year the council had raises the number of categories from 6 to 12, which also involves singing, acting, painting, photography as well essay writing in English and Urdu.

He said that the festival will also have events for special children. He further added that Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had agreed to be the chief guest on the opening day of the event while singer Shahzad Roy will also perform on the first day and the concert will be open to all.
