Islamabad, 50 Pakistani professionals were bid farewell by the Australian High Commissioner Timothy George; they are going to take Master’s level study on scholarships from Australian universities in 2012, mentioned in a press release here on Wednesday.
The subjects will be taught to the scholars agreed with the government of Pakistan that would be the key to development which country needs. This scholarship program will raise the opportunities for the students of less developed areas and also for the students from Balochistan, Khyber-pakhtunkhaw and other tribal areas. Mr. George was addressing the students at their pre-departure briefing, he said. He further added, studying in Australia will boost their abilities to bring innovative changings in their own country.
“The scholarships target emerging leaders in Pakistan. Scholarship recipients are required to return to Pakistan after completing their studies, ensuring that they bring their newly acquired skills home to contribute to the development of their country. Many past scholarships recipients have become leaders in government, the private sector and non-government organizations,”
The scholarship programs build a strong partnership between Pakistan and Australia. Australia has been giving scholarships to the Pakistani students since 1991 and also Australian development program has growing steadily in Pakistan. Australia has also provided assistance to the current flood situation. Recently on 26 Sep, 06 million dollars were announced by the Australian Foreign Minister as to support for food, shelter, water, health and sanitation to the effected people.
