2nd National Child Art Exhibition organized in Islamabad

National Child Art Exhibition was organized by the Discovering New Artists in Islamabad in association along with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA). This exhibition was attended by over 150 artists, aspirants, parents, teachers, school administrators as well as the youngsters.

H.E. Mrs. Jeanette Seppen (the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) and also Mr. Mujtaba Zaidi (the President & Director, Discovering New Artists) instated the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The chief guest displayed the artwork of the best 171 chosen young artists from all over the Pakistan and also esteemed their talent.

The Chief Executive officer of the organization, Mr. Mujtaba Zaidi clarified the reason behind starting the Art for Change project. Mujtaba said “The main objective of this step is to deliver the opportunities to the aspirants from under-resourced schools as well as to provide them an opportunity to participate equally on a national level along with all the resources that are required”. He moreover said that “one of the main objectives of the competition is to make a bridge among the aspirants from the privileged as well as the underprivileged class”.

Art for Change is an annual competition that is presently in its second stage. The theme of the competition of this year was “Make a new world of Colors”. Over 2500 art entries were received from over 15 cities of Pakistan and almost 100 schools thru Pakistan this year. 30 aspirants were given cash prizes while the trophies were distributed between the various schools by the 3 honorable chief guests. All the prizes were subsidized by ICI Dulux Pakistan.

The audience comprising of all the parents, artists as well as the aspirants actually enjoyed looking at the exceptional artwork by the innocent participants and mentions that these projects are highly inspiring and are also essential to bring the positive change in our society.
