Peshawar, 25 teachers of the University of Peshawar (UoP) have won research productivity awards of Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Islamabad, for the year 2011.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held at the study center in the University of Peshawar (UoP) on Thursday. Prof Dr Azmat Hayat Khan, Vice-Chancellor gave the awards to the winners and said that the university is proud of its faculty. The number of award winner scientists of the UoP was the highest among all universities in the country this year.
21 teachers among them addressed from chemical sciences, 2 from earth sciences and 1 each from environmental and biological sciences.
The vice-chancellor commended the faculty members to focus attention on establishing more and more academia industry linkages so that local industries could take benefits from them and helps in making country economically strong. He also stated establishment of a committee under the chairmanship of senior dean to support such researches and recommend their findings to the concerned authorities.
