Voluntary Organization for the Improvement of Community in Education & Health (VOICEH) started its operation in July 2002, when it started struggling for the establishment of a complete and fully equipped Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for poor and deserving patients in DHQ Hospital Chakwal. As before this, there was no concept of CCU and Cardiology. There was no emergency treatment for Cardiac Emergency patients, all such patients were sent to Rawalpindi and were used to be expired in the way to Rawalpindi or Jhelum. BCII made people realized the importance and necessity of CCU in Chakwal, and motivated Chakwal group of Industries to help them in establishing CCU in DHQ Hospital Chakwal. Today, We have a proper and Air Conditioned CCU with Cardiac Monitors , Defibrillators, and even pace maker, all donated by Chakwal Group of Industries.

VOICEH did not limit its efforts till this rather it also took the responsibility of creating awareness among people of Chakwal and its suburbs. It is also involved in providing free treatments, free Blood Sugar/Cholesterol Tests and medicines to poor and needy people through arranging free medical heart camps in different villages and towns of Chakwal District.

VOICEH also arranges Heart Awareness Walk every year in Chakwal, which is always led by a District Health Management, Administration and District cardiologists, etc. More over the Cardiologist is also kind enough to deliver a lecture at the end of this annual walk on heart diseases and its symptoms. We are pleased to take the credit of initiating for the first time, this type of event, in the history of Chakwal District in February 2004. By the grace of God Almighty the crowd and number of participants increases every year.
