Behbud Association
Behbud Association is a registered national organization with
head quarters in Rawalpindi and branches in Karachi, Lahore,
Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, Jhang and D.G Khan.
Established in 1970 each center generates its own funds and
is run by a team of very dedicated volunteer ladies. Highly
qualified medical professionals offer free time and consultation
on a regular basis. Services of other specialities/professions
are acquired on humanitarian grounds. Behbud Karachi's efforts
are concentrated on women's development in health, education,
vocational training and income generating schemes in the following
Katchi Abadies: Shirin Jinnah Colony, Mahmoodabad, Manzoor Colony,
Qayyumabad, Bilal Colony, Sultanabad, Delhi Colony and Gizri.
A multi-purpose complex housing all the under mentioned project
has been constructed with the help of generous donation in Shirin
Jinnah Colony.
Behbud Karachi members organise charity events all the year
round for raising funds to finance projects.
Behbud Association Educational Centres
Located in Railway Colony, Kalapul, and Clifton adjacent to
Shirin Jinnah Colony, Behbud Primary School offer primary and
primary level education through trained teachers and at extremely
nominal fee. Scholarships, books and uniforms are provided to
needy children.
Literacy Centres at Kalapul, Qayyumabad, Bilal Colony and Shirin
Jinnah Colony. Crafts are taught to women attending Literacy
classes. Home Literacy classes as well as literacy classes for
men at Shirin Jinnah Colony have been introduced and mosque
classes will be introduced soon.
- Fellowship Schools
Fellowship Schools Project was formally launched in November,
1997. Under the Sindh Education Foundation (S.E.F) Programme.
Ten School in 'Katchi Abadies' are operational.
