History
of BISE Mardan
On orders of Controlling authority / Governor of N.W.F.P BISE
Mardan Was established in a rented building on 12 November 2001
with Chairman and a skeleton staff of 14 clerks and 4 class
IV employees.
With non availability of vacant / unused Govt. buildings and
Govt. owned land BISE Mardan was forced to acquire land of 50
Kanals at Sheikh Maltoon town.
On the occasion of ground breaking ceremony of BISE offices
complex at sheikh maltoon town Mardan the district administration
informed the Governor N.W.F.P about the unsuitability of opening
a second girls college in the building of elementary college
at sharif abad due to peculiar difficulties and location of
the area.
The Honorable Governor N.W.F.P very graciously permitted BISE
Mardan to open its offices in Elementary college building in
Exchange of the land acquired for Board offices complex at sheikh
maltoon town for the construction of proposed girls college.
BISE Mardan has conducted Inter annual 2002 as its first Exam.
The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE)
Mardan established under BISE ACT 1975 is an autonomous body
of the Ministry of Education. It is empowered with administrative
and financial authority to organize, regulate, develop and control
Intermediate and Secondary Education in general and conduct
examinations in the institutions affiliated with it.

Objectives
of the Mardan Board
BISE Mardan Board Mission
Conduct SSC, HSSC and Oriental languages and any other level
of examination approved by the controlling authority and to
act as regulatory body for all Education institutions within
the area of jurisdiction.
BISE Mardan Board AIM
To achieve the above mission with the aim to take positive
steps for improving the Education standard and to provide
the examination facilities to the candidates, Parents and
general public at their door steps within the area of jurisdiction.

Functions
of the Mardan Board
- Hold and conduct all examinations pertaining to Intermediate
Education, Secondary Education, Classical and Pakistani languages
and such other Examinations as may be determined by the government.
- Lay down the conditions for admissions to its examination
to determine the eligibility of the candidates and to admit
them to such examinations.
- Prescribe courses of study for its examinations.
- Lay down conditions for recognition of institutions. Accord,
refuse or withdraw recognition wholly or partly.
- Inspection of institutions and arrange for inspection of
recognized institutions and call for inspection reports in
respect of such institutions.
- Institute and award scholarships, medals and prizes in the
prescribed manner.
- Grant certificates and diplomas to persons who have passed
its Examinations and to withdraw such certificates and diplomas.
