Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) every year conducts the 5th and 8th class exams in all the districts of Punjab. Bahawalpur board also lies under the authority of PEC and every year conducts the exams for grade 5 and 8 students.
Punjab examination commission (PEC) was established in 2005 as an independent body to conduct the school level exams in Punjab province. For this purpose eight educational boards were formed and all are responsible to hold the crystal clear exams. The functions of PEC are to develop tests and in printed form sends to all the boards or districts. Every year around 4 or 5 million students appear in 5th and 8th class annual exams through public and private sector institutions. Later on it prepare the reports to help the teachers, educators about the learning process at elementary level. PEC includes 18 members and out of them 3 MPAs, 2 educationists and two persons from private schools.
