Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK Karachi) was established as separate entity in 1974 through the "Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education. This Board has the power to organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate Education within its jurisdiction.

At present time of its jurisdiction, BIKE Karachi conducts inter examinations for Karachi. BSE conducts Matric examinations for Karachi.

BISE Karachi conducts its matriculation exams in the month of April and while intermediate exams starts in the month of May. Results of matric are usually announced in the month of April and May while Inter exams results are announced in the month of September.

Karachi board is working for the betterment of nation by conducting examinations in a transparent and effective way. In this way students can get better learning environment which helps them in future to work better in the competitive environment.
