Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bannu (BISE Bannu) was established in 1990 after the bifurcation from Peshawar board. BISE Bannu is an authoritative body for conducting matriculation and intermediate examinations for the schools, colleges and private students belong to it within its jurisdiction. At present time of its jurisdiction, BISE Bannu conducts examinations for District Bannu, District Lakki Marwat, District D.I.Khan, District Tank, and North & South Waziristan Agency.

BISE Bannu conducts its matriculation exams in the month of March and while intermediate exams starts in the month of April. Results of matric are usually announced in the month of July and August while Inter exams results are announced in the month of September.

BISE Bannu is working under its aims and objectives to recognize education from all educational, professional, political and nonpolitical and religious organizations and groups.
